SONOSCOPIA |Camille Prieux, Robin Jonsson & Julietta Birkeland
SONOSCOPIA (from Sono- “sound” and -scopia “to observe”).
What does nature sound like? Silly question, one might answer. But have you ever heard the inside of a tree? Do you know what the wind sounds like for a root?
What is the melody of the leaves rustling? In this project, we invite the audience to listen to nature from the perspective of a tree. From the sounds around to the sounds within, we will guide them through an acoustic performance, an exploration of the sonic world of nature.

Camille is a dancer in the Cullberg dance company. He studied dance at SEAD (Salzburg) and graduated from the PARTS training cycle (Brussels) in 2012. Since then, he has been working with several choreographers in France, Belgium and Sweden before joining Cullberg in 2016. Parallel to his work as a dancer Camille also has an interest for electronic music and sound design. Classically trained in guitar from the age of 7 he explored different relationships to music over the years especially in the domain of improvisation. His encounter with electronic music production led him to explore and develop a deeper and more intimate interest in sound design.

Graduated from ESAC, Ecole Superieure des Arts du Cirque in Brussels 2012 with Hand to hand as a main discipline and Juggling as a second. She has been working as a professional circus-artist since then with various shows, cabarets, festivals and own productions all over the world: Clowns without borders, GOP, Cirkus Cirkör, Cirkus Elvira but most recently and relevant with Kompani Giraff still touring shows, Tvärslöjd and Tråkmånsafton. In the two last named shows she is working in a duo with circus artist Jenny Soddu. In 2020 during the pandemic Jenny invented a new concept. A more performative way to climb around in trees, using skills and force from both circus, dance and wall climbing which she called Treeflow. Jenny introduced Julietta in the spring 2020 to this new practice and they have been developing this concept ever since.
